In this exclusive interview, we had the pleasure of speaking with Christian Vaiana, a successful trader from Torino, Italy. Christian managed to pass the Lite Forex Challenge at The Trading Pit. Read on to learn about his trading journey, strategies, and advice for aspiring traders.
1. Tell us a little bit about you.
My interest in trading first sparked when I was just 14 years old. This passion led me to pursue a degree in economics at university, where I had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of both the economy and trading.
2. How long have you been trading?
I have been actively trading for the past 5 years, continuously honing my skills and refining my strategies in the ever-evolving world of finance.
3. What inspires you to pursue trading?
The personal challenge that trading presents inspires me. It's a constant battle with myself to stay disciplined, focused, and adaptable in the face of market fluctuations and uncertainties. This pursuit of self-improvement and growth keeps me motivated in my trading journey.
4. Do you have a trading plan in place and follow it strictly? Briefly describe your Trading Plan
My trading plan is centred more around the emotional and psychological aspects, as I firmly believe that a strong mental state is critical to success. Therefore, rather than adhering to strict rules, I have developed a routine to ensure that I am focused and centred before trading. This approach helps me maintain the right mindset to navigate the complexities of the market.
5. What was your strategy to successfully pass The Trading Pit Challenge?
My approach to completing The Trading Pit Challenge was prioritising small profits and minimising risks. Instead of aiming for significant gains, I focused on consistently making smaller, more manageable trades, ultimately leading to a successful outcome.
6. How would you rate your experience with The Trading Pit?
My experience with The Trading Pit is fantastic.
7. Why you chose The Trading Pit and not another prop firm?
My decision to choose The Trading Pit was based on my online research. I discovered that the firm stands out for providing exceptional support and education for traders and that all information is visible on its website.
8. What would you like to say to other traders attempting The Trading Pit Challenge?
Please give The Trading Pit Challenge a try. The challenge offers clear rules and exceptional support, making the trading process more accessible and manageable. Embrace the opportunity to test your skills and grow as a trader within this supportive environment.
9. Describe your best trade.
My best trade took place recently, just before the market closed. I executed a well-timed trade on the Dow Jones (DJ).
10. What is the number one advice you would give to a new trader?
My top recommendation for new traders is to stay focused. Maintaining a strong sense of focus and discipline is crucial in navigating the unpredictable trading world.
11. What does your risk management plan look like?
My risk management plan involves monitoring my daily drawdown and establishing a weekly maximum drawdown limit. If I reach this deep drawdown level, I take it as an indication that I may not be in the right mental state for trading. Recognising and addressing these situations helps me manage risk effectively and maintain steady performance.
12. What would you recommend to someone just starting with us?
If someone starts with The Trading Pit, I recommend taking it slow to allow plenty of practice and perform the trade to the best of their ability.
13. Share online resources that were/are significant in your trading development. Names and links are appreciated.

14. What made you trust The Trading Pit for your trading career?
What made me trust The Trading Pit for my trading career was its reliability, as conveyed through its website and support.
